21 August 2026 – 23 August 2026
North Wales
For our summer trips in north Wales and usually on the ever-running Dee and dam release Tryweryn (if we do have rainfall that brings the rivers up we will take advantage of it, which sometimes happens in May but rarely in August !). Between them these give us the opportunity for set piece coaching as well as river trips.
Accommodation
For this trip, we’ll be staying at the Ty Isaf Campsite. This super friendly campsite is 5 minutes outside Bala – so ideal for the Tryweryn. The campsite owners are very welcoming and allow open fires on the site. They also sell logs, kindling, firelighters and locally sourced meat too.
We’ll book out an area of the campsite for the group and collect camping fees from people at the weekend to hand over to the campsite owners. As with the bunkhouses, no problem at all if you would prefer to arrange your own accommodation.
Experience needed
2 star/British Canoeing Paddle Explore Aware or equivalent standard. Neither previous whitewater experience nor a roll are necessary.
Costs
The cost of weekend is £160 if paddling the weekend, or £240 if also paddling on the Friday too. This is the cost of coaching and does not include accommodation – please see here for more information on costs.
