17th May – 19th May 2024 – North Wales

For our winter trips in north Wales (usually November and February) we’ll be based in Snowdonia. When the rivers are running we’re spoilt for choice with grade 3/4 classics such the Conwy, Ogmore, Mawdacch, Aberglaslyn gorge and Wnion within easy reach, as well as good beginner options such as the Llugwy and Upper Glaslyn. When the levels are low, and typically in the summer we’ll often paddle the Tryweryn and Dee.

Accommodation

We always have exclusive use of the bunkhouse so you know that everyone in the bunkhouse is also on the trip. Most people do stay at the bunkhouse, but no problem at all if you would prefer to arrange your own accommodation (in which case the accommodation cost will be taken off the amount you pay).

For this trip, we’ll be staying at the Tyddyn Bychan Bunkhouse. This bunkhouse is well located for the river Tryweryn which is usually our go to river for the May trip. It’s also got a good outside space, ideal for those warm May evenings.

Experience needed

2 star/British Canoeing Paddle Explore Aware or equivalent standard. Neither previous whitewater experience nor a roll are necessary.
